Our story

20 Years & counting

The rest is History

Come with us as we take a brief look back over the past couple of decades at Element78. It’s been quite a ride!

2004 Iain and Jed decide to take the plunge and launch Element78, their first business, having previously been employees of a tech agency.  It’s an exciting start as they quickly bring on board a number of new clients and website projects.

2006 Things are going great for Element78. New project wins include a brand new web platform for Lloyds Bank Groups LDC division, utilising the full power of SiteCore.  Our web integration skills are also spotted by leading UK charity Girlguiding.

2008 The team expands to 16 full time staff as new projects come in, prompting a move to new offices at The Paintworks in central Bristol.

2010 iPad takes the world by storm, changing the way we think about websites and digital consumption. Responsive websites were already a thing, but iPads had a huge impact, denting laptop sales in the process of becoming the fastest selling consumer tech product – ever.

2010 Element78 put more focus on Umbraco projects and become an Umbraco Gold Partner, reflecting the skills of our developers and the wide-ranging experience of delivering major projects.

2020 The world changes! Through all the dark times of the pandemic, we adapt, ride the storm and manage to win a few new clients and team members, expanding our team into Europe.

2022 It’s the year that saw the launch of ChatGPT. Nothing was ever going to be the same again! We continued to develop our integration skills and put added focus on our digital consultancy work, helping clients to navigate the next generation of applications.

2024 We become an Umbraco Platinum partner, reflecting our commitment to the technology and the quality of the projects we deliver.

2024 It was our 20th birthday year, so time for a party and a chance to reflect on the past couple of decades.

In pictures At Element78 we believe in putting people first.
