Ecommerce for one of the largest independent builder's merchants in the UK

Bradfords is a leading regional building supplies business, with over 40 branches across South West England and a history going back over 250 years. 

When we first engaged with Bradfords in 2013 they had a basic ecommerce site that was turning over a small revenue. The costs of that solution didn’t stack up. They knew they could be doing more.

The Challenge 

Part of their aim was to move into the highly competitive B2C market. This demanded a thorough design process to ensure we fully optimised the proposed new e-com site around the known customer needs.

There were many challenges to overcome, such as personalised pricing and unique approaches by location, which we took onboard and addressed.

The Solution 

As part of the redesign, we went through a UX testing phase where prototypes were vigorously tested.

We were very comfortable integrating with their back office, tackling key technical obstacles along the way.

Post go live we continued to optimise the new website, maximising search-based traffic with our SEO insights and technical delivery.

The Result 

The outcome was very successful, with Bradfords benefiting from a massive 1,300% growth in revenue in the first 8 months. The project gave Bradfords the knowledge and confidence to further invest in e commerce, keeping them competitive in an extremely tight market.
