YoungMinds is the UK’s leading charity fighting for children and young people’s mental health.
Formed back in 1993, the Charity has grown and grown, empowering parents and adults who work with young people, to be the best support they can be to the young people in their lives. The Charity gives young people the space and confidence to get their voices heard and change the world we live in.
The Challenge
The team at YoungMinds has a fantastic understanding of their audience, but they recognised they needed help to translate known needs into a meaningful and highly effective website structure and user experience. The audiences are so diverse, that the ability to quickly connect the right audience to the right information and services was key.
The Solution
Detailed end-user research informed us that users (young people & parents) visiting the previous website didn’t know where to start, or what they were looking for, due to the complexity of the subject and not understanding much about Mental health.
We launched the website in March 2021, having completed a comprehensive discovery process. Part of the design was a simple but highly effective user-centric support finder, encouraging users to answer a few simple questions to connect them to the best possible information.
The Result
It is a testament to the quality of what we jointly delivered with YoungMinds, that their website is often referenced by others in the third sector as an excellent digital standard to aim for.
